THE TEAM
Pako Tshiamala
Founder and CEO
Pako’s life purpose is to build a middle class in Africa. To this end, he believes that representation for Black people in the West addresses some of the systemic challenges inhibiting growth for Black people globally. Anti-Black and systemic racism is a global challenge and Pako founded Blink Equity to work with companies who want to do their part in combating the issue from a global perspective and bring out the best in their people.
Pako started his career in corporate finance working for top institutions in financial services and technology industries, often being the only Black Person in the room. This singularity fuelled a passion to give back and be a bridge for others who look like him. To this day, Pako has helped fund over 50 innovators with over $20M in funding collectively in over 20 countries in Africa on behalf of Impact investors like Global Affairs Canada, USAID, UKAid, and Netherlands Foreign Affairs. In 2020, he tapped executives on the shoulder to consult on their strategy in response to the George Floyd murder, the result of which led him to start Blink Equity & help organizations walk the talk in relation to DEI. Blink Equity is a DEI consultancy with the purpose to equip, empower and engage people to become catalysts for change. To this end, he continues to work with global brands to sow equity within the four walls of their organization, in their local communities, and beyond.
